Frontier Drum & Bugle Corps is an ensemble within
Frontier Performing Arts Association, a non-profit community arts organization founded
in 2004 in Dallas, Texas.
The music doesn't stop at 21!
Frontier is a competitive, all-ages drum & bugle corps. Frontier's rehearsal
and performance schedule is weekend-based, and the season runs from January to late
summer. Frontier has competed in the Drum Corps Associates (DCA) Open Class
division and also the DCI All-Ages division.
DCA ('all-ages') corps is an opportunity for current or former band members, band
directors, and professional musicians to perform together; and, it is an alternative for
those students who are unable to march DCI due to time, money, family and school
commitments.
While prior marching (high-school, college, drum corps) experience is preferred, there
are programs in place for less experienced performers who have the desire to participate
in a drum & bugle corps. Dedication, a strong work ethic, and a positive
attitude are the true factors of a successful drum corps experience.
Frontier is special in that its membership is so diverse in experience. In
Frontier, you will find alumni from corps all over the country (including DCI and DCA
world champions), alumni of local (championship) bands, winterguard, drumline, and
university programs, as well as youth and adults who have not experienced drum
corps membership first-hand.
Frontier's membership comprises the following age ranges:
-
21 and up:
March until your body tells you no.
-
18 to 21:
Membership is conditional. If you have the
opportunity, march DCI.
-
15 to 17:
A family member, band director, or other approved sponsor
or guardian must be involved with the corps as a volunteer, member, or staff.
-
8 to 13:
FPAA has a special future program, the Frontier Cadets.
For more information, send an email to: cadets@frontiercorps.org
All-age corps is a way for people of all levels of experience to perform together.
So that we have a balanced and competitive unit, there are auditions to gain full
performance membership in the corps.

and administrators and you'll get the opportunity to perform with other members and learn
from our talented and experienced staff.
